The discussion over euthanasia has been going on for a long time. Thanks to the advance in medicine, it is possible to maintain patients’ lives with incurable diseases. But is it really good for patients?
The people who disagree with euthanasia see it as a kind of murder. They claim that no one has the right to kill anyone else if that person asks him to do so. And they also say that there may be people who kill patients for the sake of money and profits if euthanasia becomes legal. These discussions are correct to some extent. However, I don’t agree with the idea that euthanasia should be prohibited.
The main reason is that we have the right to choose how we want to die. There may be some people who choose to die with dignity rather than suffer for a long time. Our lives are property of ourselves, and we only have the right to make a decision for ourselves.
The pain of the patients is their own, and only they can choose pain or death.
There is another reason for this. It is because the families of patients have a heavy burden. They suffer physically and mentally. It is painful for patients to see their families suffer. Most patients don’t want to trouble their families.
It is for these reasons I support euthanasia. In my opinion, the will of the patients is most important. If patients can’t make a decision for themselves, more consideration will be necessary.

重病の、は seriously ill

長い間議論されていた、のhas been goingも意外と思いつかない。

反対する人たちは opponents で良いらしい。
合法になる、はlegalで良いみたいです。簡単ね。

The main reason is that we have the right to choose how we want to die. Some people may choose to die with dignity rather than suffer for a long time. 苦しみは suffering。painは肉体的な痛み。

「私たちの体は私たちのものだ」は our bodies are our own. ofはいらないみたい。
